Recser Oy, which organises the activities of Paristokierr\u00e4tys, offers UN-approved battery barrels required by the Act on the Transport of Dangerous Goods for collection points that collect large volumes of batteries or lithium batteries that weigh more than 500 g on a regular basis.<\/h3>\n

Suitability for a collection point<\/h2>\n

Battery barrels are suitable for collection points that collect more than 150 kg of batteries a year or lithium batteries that weigh more than 500 g. Suitability for your collection point is assessed during registration. Read more about container implementation here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All barrels in circulation are UN-certified and carry the mandatory ADR markings<\/h2>\n

Barrel model cannot be selected during the order process; delivery depends on current stock levels. However, you may indicate a preference in the \u201cAdditional information\u201d field. We fulfill this request when the preferred model is available.<\/p>\n

We are transitioning to metal barrels only. Plastic barrels will be phased out as they reach end-of-life over the coming years. After the transition period, only metal barrels will be in circulation.<\/p>\n

Determining How Many Barrels You Need<\/h2>\n

When registering as a collection point, you choose how many barrels you need at a time (either 1\u20132 or 2\u20135 barrels). Metal barrels can be delivered and collected individually\u2014but for sites selecting \u201c2\u20135 barrels,\u201d the minimum collection batch is 2 barrels on a EURO pallet. If multiple barrels are collected, they must be loaded on a pallet according to packing instructions.<\/p>\n

You can change your selection later by logging into the pickup-order site using the ID number provided at registration and submitting a change request via \u201cChange your details.\u201d If you\u2019ve forgotten your ID number, you can request it from our chatbot, Alli.<\/p>\n

Collection Lid for Metal Barrels\"\"<\/h2>\n

An optional collection lid is available for metal barrels. This lid is suitable when a single barrel needs to be placed directly in a customer-facing area.<\/p>\n

Each collection point may order one collection lid.<\/p>\n

The transport lid offers better fire safety than the collection lid, so it should be used outside of opening hours.<\/p>\n

Safety<\/h2>\n

Recycling batteries appropriately is important for the environment and safety. We have prepared online training material for collection points in order to allow them to learn more about the safety aspects of recycling batteries.<\/p>\n

The online training gives you information on how to avoid safety hazards and how the reception and storage of discarded portable batteries is arranged safely at collection points. The online training can be accessed here<\/a> (available in Finnish).<\/p>\n

In addition, a dedicated website \u2013 akkuopas.fi<\/a> (available in English)\u2013 has been created for retail professionals to support the safe handling of lithium-ion batteries.
